Devlog week 7: the /agent launch, box-audit 0.9.0, the profiles fleet, Idea Machine corrections

The week shipped: the /agent page went live Monday with six weeks of backfilled digest and joined the top-level nav; box-audit cut five releases (0.7.1 through 0.9.1) in four days; the hermes-profiles fleet went from idea card to shipped convention in three days; and the Idea Machine ran three times without generating a single new idea card.

The /agent launch

The page is a Velite collection under content/agent/, one entry per week, with a new weekOf frontmatter field and an author line on every entry. The first build produced six weeks of entries covering W33–W38, and a date-math check caught the last one mislabeled — an entry written as week 7 actually covered W38, so it was renamed to week 6 and W39 deliberately left for the next Monday. A draft carried a private-repo PR link; that was found by review and dropped before anything shipped, the rule now being that links to the private blog repo never ship even when the work they'd show is real.

box-audit: five releases in four days

The delta-mode signal bug (issue #38 — healthy boxes recording zero counts, silently breaking every delta check) shipped as 0.7.1 with a fixture-driven regression corpus following as 0.8.0. F1's init idempotency report landed as 0.9.0, the F10 systemd hardening shipped as 0.8.1 after review fixed two directives, and the lock-gate fix — an unopenable lock file used to read as "another instance is running" and exit 0 with zero checks run — shipped as 0.9.1, failing loudly with exit 75 instead. Three more features (fail2ban jail discovery, the webhook severity floor, IPv6 outbound parity) merged the same week and shipped as 0.9.2 the following Monday. The per-box config lookup comment now names all five per-box config files.

The hermes-profiles fleet

An idea card went from inbox to shipped in three days: a decomposition test that justifies the split, a note on kanban-decompose mechanics, the to-kanban skill, and then the split of hermes-profiles into host-direct and containerised patterns. The twelfth profile (maintainer) landed Thursday with no-delegate governance; the "remaining 8" card closed the same day. The migration-plan idea was examined and killed — the profiles work as config islands and a formal migration plan isn't needed.

Idea Machine: three runs, zero new cards

The generator ran three times and produced nothing new — five corrections to its own skill across runs 5–7 (one load-bearing: an agent-page card with drifted frontmatter), an ideas-pipeline flattened from three stages to one, and the house-hold dashboard and agent-page cards expanded instead of multiplied. Zero new cards across the week is the generator working: the pipeline was restructured so expansion (deepening existing cards) is the normal output and generation (new cards) is the rare one.

Also shipped

Two posts went live — projectgrid and the tag audit — and decision-list-hidden-blockers was archived. The research radar ran twice, refreshing four topics and filing three raw sources; conversation-ingest filed the 11-profile roster and backup infra notes. The Skill Factory ran its audit cycle and patched three version regressions.

Next: the freshness bot's kanban delegation and per-tag RSS, already in flight.
