Who is Luke and what’s this all about?
Hi, I’m Luke! I’m a computer science graduate currently employed by Nuix as a Technical Support Engineer. I love what I do because it challenges me to learn something new every day. When I discover something interesting I like to write about it on my blog which is where you will normally find me when I am not working on a project. I found that I learn best by explaining which is where the motivation for this blog came from. I use this blog as a platform to explain new things to other people and hopefully learn something myself along the way.
On a more personal note here are some random facts about me:
1. I’m a football fan with an affinity for Manchester United. You might hate me for saying that and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
2. I’m a PC gamer. I spend most of my gaming time playing either Rocket League or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. I like to pretend I’m not terrible at either game.
3. I love metal. You wouldn’t think it by looking at me because I look nothing like a stereotypical metalhead but you will normally find me listening to some variation of Metallica, Five Finger Death Punch, Trivium, Disturbed or In Flames.
4. I’m a musician – Sort of. I have been playing guitar on-and-off for a number of years but never really progressed past beginner level. Despite that I own 3 guitars and a host of accessories to go along with them.
About this blog
You can use this blog to follow me through this journey of discovery and education. I originally started this blog to document my experience with setting up a home server and I have continued posting about that and other topics ever since. Usually when I discover something new, or better yet I encounter a problem or make a mistake, I blog about it. If there is something new I want to learn, I’ll write a post about it. I’m sure you get the picture by now. I’ll also be blogging about things I’m interested in which could include anything from video games and virtualisation to coffee!
Stick around, you might learn a thing or two while you’re here!
